Analysis Can Identify Source of Nicotine in E-Liquids, Disproving False Claims About Synthetic Nicotine

As the popularity of synthetic nicotine increases, Next Generation Labs recognized the need for a test to validate the authenticity of e-liquids claimed to be made from synthetic nicotine. Our team developed a process that enables e-liquid manufacturers to test the origin of the nicotine, providing adult consumers with the confidence that they are not being sold a tobacco-nicotine as a mislabeled synthetic product.

After being alerted our trade customers to products in the market that were being sold as ‘made from synthetic nicotine’, we decided to validate competitor product claims through a formal set of replicable tests that identify the presence of tobacco-derived impurities, which are not present in synthetic nicotine. Test results have revealed traces of tobacco-derived impurities in competitor brands, suggesting their claims of using synthetic nicotine or non-tobacco, may be suspect.
